What We Offer

Our candle‑making workshops are a cozy, hands‑on experience designed for groups who want to create something meaningful together.

Perfect for team outings, book clubs, birthdays, bridal parties, or creative gatherings, each workshop accommodates a minimum of 6 guests and ideally no more than 20 to keep the experience personal and immersive. Workshop scents can be customized or be chosen from a curated selection of scents. Participants also have the option to customize their candle size: 6oz or 8oz, with optional add‑ons like car diffusers, room sprays, or mini 3oz candles for an elevated experience.

Pricing varies based on your group size, chosen products, and whether you already have a space reserved or need us to provide one. Every workshop is crafted to feel warm, welcoming, and delightfully bookish, a chance to slow down, pour something beautiful, and leave with a scent that tells your story.

  • Prices vary depending on candle size, any additional add-ons, and if a space rental is required.

    Workshops start at $30 per person. Add-ons range from $8-$15 depending on the item. Venue rental fees apply if a space is needed.

  • Just bring yourself. You might want to wear clothes you are ok with a wax spot here or there on, but I have the other materials taken care of.

    With the workshop, you get:

    • One Candle Per Person

    • Use of All Materials and Tools

    • Scent Exploration and Blending Guidance

    • Labels and Customizations

    • A cozy, guided experience from start to finish

  • We plan most candle-making workshops to last about 2 hours. This includes about 60-90 minutes of actual candlemaking. The rest of the time accounts for the candles cooling to be hardened and so you can take it home that day. Candles will need to sit for about a week before they are ready to be lit. That time allows them to cure and fully absorb the fragrance.

  • Workshops are flexible on location. If you have a location, I can come to you. Otherwise, we can set a location based on the area you are wanting. If the workshop is more than 25 miles from downtown Columbia, there will be a travel fee added.

  • These workshops are great for any occasion.

The Boring Information (Policies)

Booking and Payment

  • A non‑refundable retainer (50%) is required to reserve your workshop date. Retainer will be applied to workshop cost.

  • Your date is not confirmed until the retainer is paid.

  • A final headcount is due 7 days before your workshop.

  • If additional guests join after the final headcount is submitted, they must be submitted at least 3 days before the event, and may be added fi space and materials allow. Invoice must be paid for additional guests before the event.

  • Your remaining balance will be invoiced after the final headcount is submitted.

  • The remaining balance must be paid in full before the workshop begins.

  • If payment is not received before the workshop, the event will not proceed.

Group Size

  • Workshops require a minimum of 6 participants.

  • If fewer than 6 people attend, you are still responsible for the minimum cost.

  • Workshops work best with no more than 20 participants.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

  • Retainers are non‑refundable under any circumstances.

  • Cancellations made within 7 days of the workshop will be charged 50% of the remaining balance.

  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the workshop will be charged 100% of the remaining balance.

  • You may reschedule once if you request it at least 7 days in advance and if a new date is available.

Location and Travel

  • Workshops can be held at your location or at a decided space.

  • A travel fee may apply for locations outside the Columbia, SC area.

  • Venue rental fees will be added to your invoice if a space is needed. The vendor fee will be incorporated into the participant cost if needed.

Customization and Add-On

  • Groups may choose 6oz or 8oz candles.

  • Add‑ons include car diffusers, room sprays, or 3oz mini candles.

  • Custom scent requests may include an additional fee, depending on availability.

  • All customization choices must be finalized at least 14 days before the workshop.

Timing and Candle Pickup

  • The full workshop lasts approximately two hours.

  • The candle‑making portion takes 60–90 minutes, depending on group size and add‑ons.

  • The remaining time is used for cooling, labeling, and finishing touches.

  • All participants should plan to take their candles home the same day.

  • There is no option for later pickup or delivery, since all candles will be fully cooled and ready to go by the end of the workshop.

Safety and Age Requirements

  • Guests must follow all safety instructions during the workshop.

  • Participants must be 16 years or older to take part in the candle‑making portion.

  • Anyone under the influence of alcohol or substances may be asked not to participate in any portion of the workshop, pending the instructor’s discretion.

Damage and Liability

  • If the workshop is held at your location, please protect tables and floors.

  • The Cozy Chapter is not responsible for damage to furniture or flooring caused by spills.

  • The Cozy Chapter is not responsible for injuries caused by failure to follow safety instructions.
