How the Process Works
It’s simple, collaborative, and designed to keep things moving smoothly. Here’s the full journey from idea to scent to launch.
Fill Out the Form: Start by filling out the Custom Candle Interest Form. This is where you tell me about your book, the character or world you want to feature, and the overall mood or atmosphere you’d love the candle to capture. You don’t need to know anything about fragrance, just your story and your vibes.
Consultation Call: Once I’ve reviewed your form, we’ll schedule a short consultation call. During this call, we’ll clarify your vision, talk through scent direction, discuss how you’d like to use the candles (signings, preorder incentives, website sales, etc.) and decide whether you prefer a wholesale or royalty model.
Scent Sample Creation and Delivery: After our call, I’ll create 2-3 custom scent samples inspired by your character, setting, or overall vibe. I’ll mail these to you so you can experience them in your own space. One round of samples is included in the collaboration. If we need additional rounds, we’ll discuss a small fee to cover materials and shipping.
Choose Your Scent: Once you’ve tried the samples, you’ll choose the scent that feels the most ‘like’ your character or world. At this stage, we confirm the final scent, label details (name, quote, or tagline), and which sales model you are going with so we can move confidently into production.
Production: With your scent and label approved, I’ll begin hand-pouring your candles. For this collaboration, we typically use my 6oz candle size (regular scents retail ~$16). I’ll produce the agreed-upon quantity, label and cure them, and prepare them either for shipment to you (wholesale), or for listing on my website (royalty model).
Launch, Sales, and Earnings: Once production is complete, your candle is ready to launch. If you’ve chosen the wholesale model, you’ll receive your candles to sell at events, online, or in bundles. If you’ve chosen the royalty model, I’ll list the candle on my website, handle fulfillment, and you’ll earn an agreed upon amount per candle sold. Together, we’ll share and promote the launch so your readers can experience your story in a whole new way.
